With drinking a large part of social culture, it is common to find patrons with glasses in their hands. However, without knowing, one’s alcoholic beverage can turn into a deadly poison.

Drink spiking has been rife throughout clubs and pubs, and has especially come to life at schoolies. The deadly poison, methanol, has been an unwanted addition to drinks by spikers, with their subtle actions catching victims in vulnerable states.

A study by Queensland University of Technology has found a link between ‘dangerous’ music and drug and alcohol abuse. It suggests that the tempo, lyrics and mode of music can cause listeners to have a lapse, and succumb to cravings that come with drugs and alcohol.

The study uses negative, thrash metal music as an example of what is considered ‘dangerous’ sound.
